Reach your travel destination before the night falls

I advise anyone travelling to a new destination to reach it before night falls.

Why is this important?

Here are a few reasons:

Lack of resources and help

I recently went on a trip to Goa with some of my friends. We reached Goa Airport by 9 PM, and by the time we got to the hotel, it was 10 PM. When we tried to check in to the hotel, we learnt that there was some misunderstanding with the bookings and we will have to pay an additional 50%. This additional payment shocked us. We tried negotiating with the hotel staff, but they were noticeably hostile toward us. This hotel is a highly reputable hotel chain, and we were livid. Besides, we were hungry, tired and sleepy.

We thought of paying the extra, but their attitude made us rethink. We stormed out of the hotel and sat in a restaurant as we were hungry.

Two hours later, we were on the roads searching for a place to stay. In that dire state, we took the first accommodation we got, and it was terrible.

If we had access to Scooty that night, we would have quickly searched for decent accommodation. Since it was night, no bike rental answered our phone calls.

Besides, this was late at night, and we couldn't book new accommodation using online platforms.

Gloomy first impression

Many poets admire darkness but let's face it, it is scary to visit places which are pitch black. Even if it's the world's safest place, as a stranger to that place, dark streets feel dangerous. This first impression would generally be harmful, which might stop you from exploring the area better.

Costly

Unlike Software Engineers who love to call themselves Night Owls, other professionals do not enjoy it and expect more payment for doing service at night.

Risky

In the situation mentioned above, what if we didn't find accommodation? Isn't it too risky to stay outside with our luggage? Even if not robbed, we still have to face the wrath of an unapologetic climate.
